Eganville and Area Community Development Group announces enhanced Bell wireless service

EGANVILLE, Ontario, December 12, 2017 – The Eganville and Area Community Development Group (EACDG) is pleased to announce that residents and businesses will soon have access to Bell’s national LTE wireless network, including mobile Internet speeds of up to 150 Mbps, beginning in 2018.

“Expanded wireless coverage and much faster Internet service are key components of our quest to revitalize Eganville and area,” said Don Bishop, Chair of the EACDG. “This is great news for both current and future residents and businesses as we continue to grow a better connected community with expanded opportunities for the local economy as well as education and healthcare.”

“I’m extremely grateful for the way Bell came to the table and provided a solution to improve wireless coverage in the Town. In particular, I want to thank Michael Coates and Bharat Puri for driving this project on behalf of the Committee. Michael’s business relationships and Bharat’s technical expertise were essential in getting this project up and running,” added Don.

“We are very pleased to partner with the EACDG to offer advanced wireless and Internet services for residents and businesses in Eganville,” said Charles Gosselin, Director of Municipal Relations and Partnerships for Bell. “With strong support from Mayor Murphy and CAO Brian Martin, this project is a textbook example of how business and municipalities can work together to improve services in our communities.”

The wireless network upgrade will begin early in 2018 and be completed in time for the summer tourist season. The Committee’s announcement closely follows its successful establishment of McRae Outlook Park.
